- 1 (16 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 2/3 c. dry red wine
- 1/2 c. beef broth
- 1/4 c. quick cooking tapioca
- 1 tsp. granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. Italian herb seasoning
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 small bay leaves
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 lb. cubed, boneless beef chuck
- 6 carrots, sliced
- 4 ribs celery, sliced
- 2 onions, quartered
- 1 can mushrooms, drained
- 1 Tbsp. mustard
Directions

1Heat oven to 325°.

2Using a 5 to 6-quart Dutch oven, mix tomatoes, wine, broth, tapioca, sugar, Italian seasoning, salt, bay leaves and pepper.

3Stir in the beef.

4Add carrots, celery and onions.

5Cover and bake about 3 hours, stirring twice.

6Add mushrooms and mustard.

7Bake another 10 minutes.
