  • 5 lb. sirloin roast or unrolled rump roast, sliced paper thin and tied
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. sweet basil
  • 1 tsp. crushed red pepper (cut back if you don't like it hot)
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 c. water

Directions

    Place meat, spices and water in roast pan; bake in a 325° oven for 3 to 4 hours, cutting string and basting the last 1/2 hour. Serve on Italian or French bread or hard rolls.
