- 1 medium-size head cabbage
- 1 medium-size onion
- 1 3/4 c. sugar, divided
- 3/4 c. vinegar
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. celery seed
Directions

1Shred cabbage, place in a large bowl, in alternate layers of cabbage and thinly sliced onion rings.

2Top with 3/4 cup sugar. Bring to boil 1 cup sugar, vinegar, oil, salt, dry mustard and celery seed.

3When mixture boils, pour over cabbage.

4Do not stir. Cover; let stand overnight or at least 6 to 8 hours.
