Ingredients

  • 4 c. white sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. white corn syrup
  • 1 large can condensed milk
  • 1/4 to 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1 or more c. peanuts or nuts to taste
  • 1 c. vanilla to taste

Directions

    Mix sugar, syrup, milk and butter thoroughly; cook gradually until it comes to a boil.

    Beat constantly from the time it is put on the fire until it forms a medium hard ball in cold water.

    Beat well until creamy.

    Add nuts and vanilla.

    Pour onto buttered platter; cut into squares.
