Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. olive or canola oil
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 (28 oz.) cans tomatoes, undrained
  • 4 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley or substitute dried
  • 4 tsp. basil
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 12 pkg. Trio Italiano by American Beauty
  • 2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Directions

    In a 4-quart saucepan, heat oil and cook onion and garlic until tender, but not brown.

    Stir in tomatoes with liquid, parsley, sugar, basil, oregano, salt and pepper.

    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally to break up tomatoes, 15 to 20 minutes.
