  • 2 c. light brown sugar
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. jam
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves

    Mix sugar, soda, cocoa, flour and buttermilk.

    Add spices.

    Add raisins, nuts, jam and margarine; mix well.

    Add 3 eggs separately. Mix well.

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Pour batter into greased and floured pan; bake until done.
