  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 3 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. blackberry jam
  • 1/4 c. orange juice
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add beaten eggs.

    Sift flour; reserve 1/4 cup for dredging raisins and nuts.

    Sift remaining flour with soda and spices.

    Add to creamed mixture along with buttermilk. Stir in jam and orange juice.

    Fold in dredged raisins and nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

    Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
