- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. blackberry jam
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten separately
- 1 3/4 c. plain flour
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan. Combine with butter and sugar; beat until creamy.

3Add jam and beaten egg yolks.

4Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture alternately with buttermilk.

5Beat as little as possible. Fold in beaten egg whites.

6Cook about 30 minutes or until it tests done with a toothpick.
