- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. jam
Directions

1Mix, leaving out jam.

2If dough is hard to handle, chill about an hour. Divide dough into 12 equal parts.

3Place on well-greased cookie sheets.

4Shape into rectangles 8-inches long and 1-inch wide.

5With wooded spoon, make a furrow down center of each piece of dough.

6Spread jam in furrow.

7Bake 10 minutes.

8Cool 2 minutes on baking sheets.

9Cut into slices. When cool, frost.
