  • 1 c. raisins
  • 2 c. currants
  • 1 c. cherries, chopped
  • 1 c. prunes, chopped
  • 1/2 c. citron or mixed peel, cut in small pieces
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • 1 lb. butter
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 6 c. grated bread crumbs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • rind of 2 lemons
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 doz. eggs
  • 2 tsp. ground pimentos

Directions

    Wash fruits if necessary.

    Drain and in a jar or bottle, add wine, rum, brandy, stout and burnt sugar and mix well.

    Seal tightly and place in a cool area for about 4 weeks.
