  • 4 pork chops, about 3/4-inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, coarsely ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
