- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. dark brown sugar
- 1/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. sliced almonds
Directions

1Combine flour, baking powder and spices in medium bowl.

2Beat butter and sugars in mixer bowl until light and fluffy.

3Beat in egg and vanilla.

4Gradually beat in flour until blended.

5Stir in almonds.

6Shape dough into 8 x 2 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch brick.

7Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

8Cut brick into 1/8-inch slices and bake on ungreased cookie sheet 8 to 10 minutes at 350°.
