- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 lb. raisins
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Cream butter and add sugar gradually.

2Add eggs, beating after each addition.

3Mix and sift dry ingredients and add to batter alternately with milk.

4Add vanilla.

5Divide batter into two parts.

6Bake two plain layers. Into the other half put raisins and spices.

7Stir well and bake two spice layers.

8Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

9When stacking the layers, begin with a spice layer and then a plain layer.

10Use the following filling between layers.
