- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 stick margarine
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. lemon extract
- 3/4 c. milk
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- dash of salt
Directions

1Cream the butter and margarine.

2Add sugar gradually; continue beating.

3Add eggs, one at a time; mix well.

4Add flour, bit by bit.

5Add milk after each addition of flour.

6Grease and flour 3 layer cake pans.

7Bake in a 300° oven until browned and shrinks from sides of pan.

8Remove cake from pans; place on wire racks. When cool, spread with your favorite jelly.

9Spread lemon frosting on top and sides.
