Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 qt. tomatoes (canned)
  • 1 lb. lasagna noodles
  • 4 qt. water
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 lb. Ricotta cheese
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 c. Parmesan cheese

Directions

    In large skillet, brown meat.

    Add onion and remaining spices; cook until brown.

    Drain off grease.

    Add canned tomatoes; cook or simmer for 45 minutes.

    Drop noodles in boiling salted water; cook for 15 minutes.

    Rinse and drain.

    Place layer of noodles in large greased casserole dish.

    Top with layer of meat sauce.

    Top this with about 1/2 of each kind of cheese.

    Repeat layers.

    Put small amount of meat sauce on top for color.

    Bake for 45 to 50 minutes at 350°.

    Allow to set 10 to 15 minutes before cutting.
