  • 1 lb. coarsely chopped dates
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 5 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 unbeaten eggs

    Mix all together.

    Pour into 10-inch square pan and bake 45 minutes at 325°.

    Let stand until not quite cool, 10 to 15 minutes.

    Cut into bars. Roll each bar in confectioners sugar.
