Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 4 tsp. salt
- 1/3 to 1/2 c. honey (1/2 c. yields sweet Challah)
- 1 3/4 c. hot water
- 2 c. flour + 4 c. approximately
- 1 c. oil
- 3 eggs
Directions

1Combine first 4 ingredients and stir.

2Add 2 cups flour, oil and eggs.

3Start adding additional flour.
-
4Recipe will use approximately 6 cups.

5Keep adding and kneading until dough is no longer sticky.

6Put into an oiled bowl.

7Cover and leave in a warm spot

8until doubled in quantity (about 1 hour).

9Remove from bowl. Punch and divide into sections for braiding.

10Braid into one large or 2 small Challahs.

11Allow to double in bulk.
-
12Brush with egg yolks, thinned with one tablespoon of water and bake in preheated oven at 350° for about 50 minutes.
