Ingredients
- 1 roast (sirloin, rump or chuck), thawed or frozen
- 1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
Directions

1Sprinkle salt into bottom of a Dutch oven pot with a lid.

2Heat pot on high hot enough to sizzle the roast.

3Drop roast in hot pot, fattest side down first, long enough to slightly brown.

4Flip roast over to brown other side.

5Turn on low heat.

6Sprinkle soup mix on top of roast.

7Add about 1 cup of water around sides of roast. Cover pot with liquid and cook on low until roast is done.

8(Takes longer for a frozen roast.)

9Remove roast from pot; set aside to make gravy with drippings in the pot.
