Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound pinto beans, dried
  • 1/2 pound black beans, dried
  • 1/2 pound lima beans, dried
  • 1 each ham hock
  • 1 x salt to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large pimentos chopped
  • 1 medium onions chopped
  • 1/4 cup molasses

Directions

    Soak beans for 2 to 6 hours in cold water.

    Drain water & replace with with fresh water.
  3. 3
    Bring water to a boil slowly.
  4. 4
    Add salt & pepper, ham hock, onion, pimento, and garlic.

    Reduce heat to Medium and cook for 1 hour.

    Be sure to stir frequently.

    Add molasses at this point & cook for 15 minutes more.

    Excellent with ham or pork.
