Kahlua

Directions

   Bring 4 cups water to a boil.

   Add 3 3/4 cups sugar and boil 8 minutes.

   Remove from heat and take a little of the mixture and stir in 1/2 cup instant coffee.

   Return to burner and bring to a boil.

   Remove from heat and allow mixture to cool for several minutes.

   Stir in 1/5 of vodka.

   Split whole vanilla bean lengthwise and place in 1/2 gallon jug.

   Pour hot mixture into jug and cap.

   Let stand for 2 weeks.

    Remove the vanilla bean and drink!
