Kahlua Brownies

Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. margarine
  • 3 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. Kahlua
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Melt over hot water, margarine and chocolate; cool slightly. Beat eggs and sugar until light; add chocolate mixture.

    Stir Kahlua into chocolate mixture.

    Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add to chocolate mixture.

    Add nuts.

    Pour brownie mix into a 9-inch square greased pan.

    Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes. Cool.

    Brush with 1/4 cup Kahlua.

    If desired, frost with melted 6 ounces of chocolate chips, 1/3 cup margarine and 1 or 2 tablespoons of Kahlua.
