- 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. shortening or bacon drippings
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 egg
Directions

1In a bowl mix all dry ingredients. Add milk and egg. Melt the drippings or shortening in a skillet or baking pan. Add to the batter and pour in a hot skillet that is well-greased.

2Bake at 450° about 20 to 25 minutes.
