  • 1/2 c. minced shallots
  • 1/2 c. dry white wine
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. heavy cream
  • dash of grated nutmeg
  • 12 oz. Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1 (10 x 2-inch) pie shell, baked

Directions

    Preheat oven to 400°.

    Bring shallots and wine to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 3 minutes.

    Set aside to cool.

    Sprinkle eggs with salt and pepper; beat lightly.

    Beat in cream, nutmeg, wine and shallots.
