Ingredients

  • 3 slices chopped bacon
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 1/2 lb. beef
  • 2 chopped medium onions
  • 2 chopped stalks celery
  • 1/4 chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. hot sauce
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 c. tomato sauce or paste
  • 2 c. whole tomatoes
  • 2 c. red kidney beans

Directions

    Saute bacon, garlic and beef.

    Combine in pot the onions, celery, green pepper, mustard, chili powder, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, tomato sauce or paste and whole tomatoes.

    Add meat mixture.

    Cook and simmer for 2 to 3 hours. Add the 2 cups of red kidney beans at the last hour.
