Ingredients
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
- 1 c. thick jam
Directions

1Cream margarine and sugar in large mixing bowl.

2Add eggs and beat again.

3Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and allspice together three times.

4Add to creamed mixture, alternately with sour milk.

5Fold in jam.

6Pour into 2 greased 9-inch cake pans.

7Bake at 350° about 35 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.

8Cool in pan for 10 minutes; remove from pans and complete cooling on wire racks.

9Frost with frosting.
