  • 1 cup Tempura Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoons Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons White Pepper
  • 18 teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • 23 cups Cold Water, Sparkling Water, Or Club Soda
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1/2 teaspoons Vinegar
  • 2 cups Sweet Corn Kernels
  • 1/2 cups Chopped Green Onions
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil, For Frying

Directions

    Blend flour, sugar, salt, white pepper and cayenne pepper in a large bowl.

    Add water, egg and vinegar to the bowl and whisk to combine.

    Mix in corn and green onions.

    Heat the vegetable oil in a heavy large skillet over medium heat.

    Drop batter by 1/4 cupfuls into the skillet.

    Cook cakes until brown and cooked through, about 3 minutes per side.
