  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup green lentil mungh daal
  • 5 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 cloves

Directions

    Mix rice and green lentil and soak for at least half hour.

    Put them in pressure cooker with rest of ingredients , add 4 times water and set it on high heat .

    On 1 whistle , reduce the heat to med . low , keep for 10 min and then remove the cooker from stove.

    Wait for pressure release and then serve with clarified butter.

    Can also be cooked in microwave , cook for half hour on full heat setting and then cover the bowl and cook for 20 min on medium powerr settings
