Ingredients
- 4 turnips, sliced 1/8 inch thick
- 12 cup water
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 small slice fresh ginger
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 3 scallions, cut in 1 lengths
- 14 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon chopped chives
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
Directions

1Sprinkle turnip slices with salt.

2Set aside for 2 hours.

3Rinse and drain.

4In a saucepan, combine marinade ingredients and bring to a boil.

5Add turnips and toss mixture.

6Cook until liquid comes to a boil.

7Cool; place turnips and liquid in a jar.

8Refrigerate.

9Shake jar occasionally to distribute liquid; allow flavors to blend overnight.
