  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter, melted
  • 5 Tbsp. whipped cream
  • 2 Tbsp. almond flavoring or brandy
  • 4 1/3 c. flour (one cup at a time)

    Work dough until it can be gathered into a ball.

    Refrigerate 1 hour on lightly floured board.

    Roll out 1/8-inch thick.

    Cut diagonal to form diamonds 3-inches long.

    Cut 3/4-inch slash in center.

    Pull one tip through to form 1/2 knot.

    Fry until lightly browned in fat; don't crowd at 375°.

    Drain on paper.

    Makes 100 to 120.
