- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 5 Tbsp. whipped cream
- 2 Tbsp. almond flavoring or brandy
- 4 1/3 c. flour (one cup at a time)
Directions

1Work dough until it can be gathered into a ball.

2Refrigerate 1 hour on lightly floured board.

3Roll out 1/8-inch thick.

4Cut diagonal to form diamonds 3-inches long.

5Cut 3/4-inch slash in center.

6Pull one tip through to form 1/2 knot.

7Fry until lightly browned in fat; don't crowd at 375°.

8Drain on paper.

9Makes 100 to 120.
