  • 2 Tbsp. Spry or Crisco
  • 1 unbeaten egg
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. diced apples
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

    Mix Crisco, sugar and egg together.

    Add vanilla.

    Mix together flour, nutmeg, salt, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon.

    Add dry ingredients to mixture.

    Add in the diced apples. Put in a small square pan.

    This may be doubled to make a larger cake.
