Ingredients
- 2/3 c. milk, scalded
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. yeast dissolved in 2 Tbsp. warm water
- apricot preserves or any of your choice
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 c. sugar
Directions

1Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm and add yeast.

2Stir well.

3Add eggs and flour and mix to a smooth soft dough.

4Knead lightly on floured board.

5Place in greased bowl and let rise until doubled in bulk.

6Make dough into 1 1/2-inch balls.

7Flatten with 2 fingers to make an indentation in the middle.

8On a greased cookie sheet, let rise until double. Reflatten in center and fill center with preserves.

9Bake at 325° for 12 to 15 minutes.

10Cool and frost.
