- 20 to 25 (4-inch) cucumbers
- 1/8 tsp. powdered alum
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 heads dill
- 1/4 tsp. turmeric
- 1 hot pepper
- 1 qt. vinegar
- 1 c. salt
- 3 qt. water
Directions

1Wash cucumbers.

2Let stand in cold water overnight.

3Pack into hot jars.

4To each quart add listed amounts of alum, garlic, dill and pepper.

5Combine vinegar, salt and water.

6Heat to boiling. Fill jars and seal.
