Ingredients

  • 12 cups popped popcorn
  • 4 cups Cheerios toasted oat cereal
  • 4 cups rice or 4 cups Corn Chex
  • 2 cups dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 cup margarine (not butter)
  • 34 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 12 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

    Mix dry ingredients and put in 2 large roasting pans.

    Melt margarine over medium heat.

    Add corn syrup and brown sugar.

    Bring to a rolling boil for 6 minutes.

    You must boil for 6 minutes or syrup will not be the right consistency.

    Remove from heat; add baking soda and vanilla.

    Mixture will foam.

    Pour over dry mix.

    Place both pans in 250 degree oven for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes.
