- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. lukewarm milk, scalded
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1 Tbsp. lemon peel, finely shredded
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. chopped, blanched almonds
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water in large mixer bowl.

2Add milk, 1/3 cup sugar, salt, butter, eggs, vanilla and 1 1/2 cups of the flour.

3Beat on low speed, scrapping bowl occasionally.

4Stir in raisins, lemon peel and remaining flour.

5Cover and let rise in warm place until double, about 1 1/2 hours.
