  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 3/4 c. chopped onions
  • 1/4 c. chopped green peppers
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 lb. cottage cheese
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley flakes
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 small box lasagna noodles

    Brown hamburger, add spices, onions, peppers and tomatoes. Simmer together 15 minutes. Then add tomato paste and water and simmer on low 1 hour.

    Cook noodles; drain water.

    In large pan, cover bottom of pan with sauce, then add a layer of noodles, layer the sauce, spoon cottage cheese in several places, layer of Mozzarella cheese, then layer of noodles, continue as before.

    In preheated 350° oven, bake 40 to 50 minutes.

    Remove and let stand 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
