  • 8 oz. lean ground beef
  • 22 oz. can tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 16 oz. cottage cheese
  • 10 oz. grated Mozzarella
  • 1 large onion
  • 12 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. fennel seed
  • 2 minced cloves garlic
  • 8 oz. whole wheat lasagna noodles (uncooked)

Directions

    Brown and drain ground beef. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, onion (chopped) and spices.

    Simmer for 15 minutes.

    Layer lasagna noodles in 9 x 12-inch pan.

    Top with 1/2 cottage cheese and 1/2 sauce.

    Repeat.

    Bake at 350°

    for 30 minutes.

    Cover with aluminum foil and bake 30 minutes at 350°.

    Top with Mozzarella cheese and bake additional 15 minutes.
