  • 1 lb. ground beef chuck
  • 1/2 lb. ground lean pork
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 3 1/2 c. tomatoes (about 28 oz. can)
  • 1 1/3 c. tomato paste (two 6 oz. cans)
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1 lb. lasagna, uncooked
  • 4 c. (8 oz.) Ricotta or creamed cottage cheese
  • 2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 c. chopped parsley
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

    Saute beef, pork, onion and garlic in oil in 4-quart saucepan until meat is well-browned.

    Add tomatoes, tomato paste, water, salt, oregano, basil and red pepper; simmer, covered, 1 hour.
