  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes, coarsely chopped
  • 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 8 oz. pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 8 oz. pkg. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 c. small curd cottage cheese
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 slices Mozzarella cheese, halved diagonally

Directions

    Brown ground beef in oil in a large skillet, stirring to crumble.

    Drain off pan dripping.

    Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste and seasonings into meat.

    Bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat and simmer 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
