- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 small onion
- 28 oz. can tomatoes
- 12 oz. can tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
- 1/2 tsp. thyme leaves
- 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 bay leaf
- 2/3 pkg. lasagna noodles (about 14)
- 2 eggs
- 15 oz. Ricotta cheese
- 16 oz. Mozzarella cheese, grated
Directions

1Cook ground beef and onion until brown.

2Drain excess grease. Add tomatoes with liquid, tomato paste, sugar, salt, oregano, thyme, pepper, garlic salt and bay leaf.

3Heat to boiling, stirring to break up tomatoes.

4Reduce heat to low.

5Cover and simmer 30 minutes or longer, stirring occasionally.

6Discard bay leaf. Prepare lasagna noodles as package directs.

7Drain.

8In a 13 x 9-inch baking dish, arrange half of noodles.

9Combine eggs and Ricotta cheese.

10Spoon 1/2 of mixture over noodles.

11Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese.

12Top with sauce.

13Repeat.

14Bake for 45 minutes at 375°.
