- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (No. 2 1/2) can tomatoes
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne
- 2 c. water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- pinch of basil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 lb. lasagna noodles
- 3 qt. boiling water
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1 lb. cottage cheese
- 1/2 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 1/3 c. Romano, Parmesan cheese
Directions

1Cook noodles about 25 minutes.

2Drain and mix with oil. Arrange in a shallow 2 1/2-quart baking pan.

3Make 3 layers of each, sauce, noodles, cottage cheese, Mozzarella and grated cheese.

4Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
