Ingredients

  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. basil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 10 oz. noodles (lasagna)
  • 3 c. cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/2 c. Mozzarella cheese, sliced or grated

    Brown onion and meat.

    Spoon off excess fat.

    Add next 5 ingredients.

    Simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes.

    Stir occasionally. Cook noodles in large amount of water until tender, about 12 minutes.

    Drain and rinse.

    Combine remaining ingredients, except Mozzarella cheese.

    Place noodles in cake pan in layers of cottage cheese, Mozzarella and meat sauce between.

    Repeat until all lasagna is used.

    Put remaining cheese and meat sauce on top. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.

    Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
