- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 cans tomato sauce
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 small can mushrooms (stems and pieces)
- 2 tsp. oregano
- garlic salt or powder
- 1 (16 oz.) container Ricotta cheese
- 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese
- 1 regular pkg. lasagna noodles
- salt and pepper (omit salt if using garlic salt)
Directions

1Brown ground beef and diced onion; drain.

2Add tomato sauce, oregano, garlic salt or powder and mushrooms; simmer for at least 1 hour.

3Prepare lasagna noodles as directed on package, using 2 tablespoons oil in boiling water to prevent sticking together. Pour small amount of sauce in bottom of 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan.

4Lay one layer of noodles; cover with sauce.

5Then, using a teaspoon, distribute 1/2 of the Ricotta cheese on the sauce.

6Cut 1/3 of the Mozzarella cheese into chunks; distribute likewise.

7Repeat noodle layer, sauce layer, then Ricotta and Mozzarella layers.

8Lay remaining noodle layer; cover with sauce.

9Shred the least 1/3 of the Mozzarella cheese to cover top.

10Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired.

11Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
