Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 4 Tbsp. parsley
  • 2 tsp. basil
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 - 2 bay leaves
  • 3 - 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • Fresh garlic
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 lg. cans tomato sauce
  • 2 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • Lg. carton cottage cheese or ricotta cheese with 2 eggs mixed

Directions

    Brown ground beef and add spices and tomato sauce.

    Simmer for 2 - 3 hrs.

    The longer the better.

    Cook and drain lasagna noodles. Grease 13 x 9 pan and layer with noodles.

    Spoon part of beef mixture on top.

    Layer with mozzarella cheese; cottage cheese mixture.

    Continue layering as above and end with beef mixture. Grate fresh parmesan on top.

    Bake at 350 degrees until hot and bubbly, usually 25 - 30 minutes.
