Ingredients

  • 1 None onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 14 oz lean ground beef
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 1/2 cups low fat milk
  • 1 lb fresh lasagne sheets
  • 3/4 cup grated reduced fat mozzarella cheese
  • None None Mixed salad leaves, to serve

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Heat a lightly oiled saucepan on medium heat. Cook onion and garlic for 3 mins, or until soft. Add ground beef and cook for 4 mins, or until no longer pink, stirring to break up any lumps. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, basil and 1/4 cup water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer for 10 mins.

Meanwhile, combine cornstarch and 1/4 cup of the milk in small bowl. Bring remaining 21/4 cups milk to a boil in a saucepan on high heat. Add cornstarch mixture and cook, stirring, for 2-3 mins, or until thick.
  3. 3
Lay one-third of the lasagne sheets in a 9-inch square baking dish. Top with one-third of the beef mixture and one-third of the sauce. Repeat layers twice. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  4. 4
Bake for 20-25 mins or until heated through. Serve with salad.
