- 8 pieces cooked lasagne
- 1 qt. prepared spaghetti sauce
- 1 lb. Italian sausage or ground beef
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. basil leaves
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 12 oz. carton cottage cheese or Ricotta cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- grated Parmesan cheese (if desired)
Directions

1Spread 2 cups of spaghetti sauce over bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.

2In large skillet, brown sausage with onion over medium heat.

3Drain.

4Add bread crumbs, salt, basil, pepper, Mozzarella cheese, cottage cheese, Ricotta cheese and egg.

5Mix together.

6Cut each lasagne noodle in half crosswise.

7Spread 2 to 3 tablespoons of sausage mixture evenly on each half.

8Roll up from shorter side and place seam down in pan.

9Pour remaining sauce over top.

10Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour.

11Serve with Parmesan cheese, if desired.

12Yields 6 to 8 servings.
