  • 5 large apples unpeeled

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Preheat oven to 350F (180C).

    Core and slice the apples in eighths.

    Beat eggs and gradually add remaining sugar oil, orange juice and vanilla.

    Stift together flour, baking powder and salt.

    Combine egg mixture.

    Grease a tube pan and dust with flour.

    Pour 13 of the batter into the pan.

    Layer with 13 of the apples.

    Repeted for 2 more layers, ending with apples on top.

    Bake 1 1/2 hours until golden on the top.
