  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. mixed herbs
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 c. sliced, peeled potatoes
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 1/4 c. sliced mushrooms
  • 1 c. Cheddar cheese
  • 1 c. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 tsp. parsley flakes

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Recipe uses a 9-inch pie pan.

    In a bowl, combine beef, egg, bread crumbs, salt, herbs, mustard and garlic powder.

    Pat evenly in pan.

    Layer with potatoes, onion and mushrooms.

    Reserve some mushrooms to garnish pie.

    Cover with foil.

    Bake for 1 hour or until potatoes are done.

    Remove foil, top with cheeses, sprinkle with parsley; arrange reserved mushroom slices around ring of pie.
