  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. chopped pitted black olives
  • 2 to 4 Tbsp. capers or to taste
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • hot pepper sauce
  • cooked rice or hamburger buns

Directions

    Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    Add onion, bell pepper and garlic; saute 2 to 3 minutes.

    Add beef; cook until meat is browned on all sides.

    Drain off fat.

    Add tomato sauce, olives, capers, Worcestershire sauce, oregano and cinnamon; mix well.

    Cook 15 minutes to blend flavors.
