Ingredients
- 1/4 lb. bacon
- 1 medium potato, cut into quarters and pared
- 1 medium onion, cut into quarters
- 4 leeks, washed well (use only white part)
- 2 cans chicken broth
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- pinch of nutmeg
- 1 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. chives (optional)
- salt to taste
Directions

1Cook bacon and remove from pan.

2Add onion, leeks and potato to bacon grease.

3Cook for 1 minute. Add chicken broth, pepper and nutmeg.

4Let simmer for 45 minutes until potato is soft.

5Put into blender and puree (put in a little at a time).

6Put mixture back in pot. Add milk.

7Cook on low until hot (do not boil).
