Lemon Babka Easter Bread

- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. water
- 3 egg yolks, at room temperature
- 1 c. raisins
- Lemon Glaze (recipe follows)
Directions

1In a large bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, undissolved yeast and salt.

2Heat milk, butter and water until very warm. Butter does not need to melt.

3Gradually add to dry ingredients. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer, scraping bowl occasionally.

4Add egg yolks and 1/2 cup of the flour.

5Beat 2 minutes at high speed.

6With spoon, stir in remaining flour. Cover.

7Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour or more.
